Built from scratch in Auckland
Alternafoods started with one goal: dairy free cheese that tastes and melts the way it should. We built the business from zero into New Zealand’s largest dairy free cheese manufacturer. Today we create our own recipes, run our own factory in Glen Eden, and supply retail, foodservice and export customers across New Zealand, Australia and Asia.
Our mission
We want to lead New Zealand in plant based, allergen free food. Every product we make is free of dairy, gluten, nuts and soy, halal certified and vegan friendly.
We make everything ourselves, in a factory where no allergens or animal products are allowed. That keeps our food safe for the people who need it most, and lets us make the same promise to the brands we manufacture for.
eating Sustainably
Plant based cheese has a much lower environmental impact than dairy, but we know we still leave a footprint. Many of our ingredients are imported and our packaging is plastic.
So we choose recyclable materials wherever we can, keep waste low on the factory floor, and are working to measure our impact properly so we can keep reducing it.
